1. Name of the post: Consultant
1. Eligibility criteria:
1.Should be a qualified Chartered Accountant / Chartered Accountant firm engaged in tax matters relating to banks.
2.Should possess minimum of 10 years experience in the field.
3.Should have experience and exposure in handling all tax matters relating to banks.
2. General conditions:
•The Consultant shall be primarily responsible for monitoring recovery of Income Tax paid by the Bank under protest by pursuing / close liaison with the respective authorities, IT lawyer, IT Department, IT Appellate Tribunal and the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), etc.
•The Bank shall empanel the applicants as per the needs and requirements of the Bank. The selection will be on the basis of eligibility criteria, past experience, credentials and suitability. However, mere satisfying the eligibility norms will not entitle an applicant to be empanelled.
•Depending upon the number of applications received, the Bank reserves the right to empanel only the required number of consultants as deemed fit.
•The award of specific assignments to those empanelled will be on the basis of Terms of Reference through limited bids. The evaluation of the bids will be done by the Bank.
•The assignment thus awarded will be limited to a period of 15 months at the most with scope for extension for an additional three months at no extra cost.
•Decision of the Bank in all matters regarding number of consultants to be empanelled, thei r eligibility , the stages at which such scrutiny of eligibility is to be undertaken, the documents to be produced, empanelling / award of assignment and any other matter relating to this notification will be final and binding on the applicants. No correspondence or personal enquiries shall be entertained by the Bank in this regard.
•Any request for change of address will not be entertained
•Any resultant dispute arising out of this notification shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts situated in Chennai. Application should be submitted only in the prescribed proforma which can be downloaded from our Bank’s website – www.indianbank.in
